Our useful video user guide shows how to manually connect the Core Remote to a Wi-Fi® network.
Want to know how to create a remote support ticket? Watch our video user guide on how to use the Ticket Portal.
Alternatively, here's a set-by-step guide to set up your Core Remote, connect to a Wi-Fi® network and connect to the Core Diagnostics network:
Step 1. Attach OBD Cable
Attach the supplied OBD cable to the Core Remote using a Torx 10 tool.
Step 2. Connect the Core Remote to your WiFi network
A) Connect the 16-pin OBD connector of the Core Remote to the OBD port of a vehicle.
After a few seconds, the orange LED on the Ethernet port will illuminate and the green LED on Ethernet port will begin to flash slowly. This indicates that the Core Remote is now ready to connect to a Wi-Fi network.
B) Open the Wi-Fi settings on your PC, laptop, tablet or smartphone. Select the Core Remote when you see it appear in the list of Wi-Fi networks. It may say “Connected: No internet” - this is perfectly normal.
C) Open the web browser on your PC, laptop, tablet or smartphone and type connector.help in to the address bar.
Now select your preferred Wi-Fi network and enter your Wi-Fi password if required.
The Core Remote should now connect to your chosen Wi-Fi network.
Note: The Core Remote must be connected to a vehicle to establish a Wi-Fi connection.
D) Browse the Job Ticket Portal by typing core-diagnostics.obd.help
in to the web browser and log in using the credentials sent to you in your welcome emails.
You will then be able to choose from the menu of services and follow the steps on the screen to raise a remote diagnostics job ticket.
